The owner, Delia Smith, has not only catered a wide array of requests but also been contracted as a chef by plantations, golf clubs, and polo clubs for seasonal events. South Edisto Catering uses family southern recipes that span generations. More than that, she skillfully delivers other customized dishes to meet the needs of customers. Ms. Smith has created healthy experiences that showcase the finest of cuisine. Established in 2018, South Edisto Catering, LLC has evolved to become a preferred catering service in 10 counties located in the South Carolina Lowcountry and Midlands. Need a chef or caterer? Our Story
Since 2000, Delia Smith has been active in the food service industry. She first co-owned and operated a full-service restaurant, featuring a daily southern style buffet, seafood, steaks, hamburgers, and other items. Since the beginning, she took pride in using family recipes paired with a retro Southern twist to create unique dishes and flavors. In 2018, the restaurant relocated to a newer, larger facility and became Delia’s Restaurant and Catering. There Delia Smith was sole owner and manager, offering the same menu items and services as at the prior location.
During 2020, the restaurant expanded its catering services to adjust to the effects of the pandemic. Delia’s Catering offered pre-orders for family and business meals as well as special holiday products and other specialty items. In September 2022, Delia’s became South Edisto Catering, LLC, providing delivery, buffet-style, and full-service catering services for families and businesses. Today she continues to expand her services. She is an active chef for various organizations and caterer for a wide spectrum of events across multiple South Carolina counties. As sole proprietor, Ms. Smith manages all operations.

About the chef
Born and raised near Ocala, Florida, I spent my days, while growing up, in my dad's garden or in my nanny's kitchen. With her, my culinary passion grew as I observed her ways and learned many of her kitchen recipes and secrets. At 18, I managed produce sales for Smith Farms for 4 years and attended the College of Central Florida, majoring in business and marketing. In 1994, I moved to South Carolina, and in 2000, I began my career in the food service industry, co-owning and then owning a restaurant. In 2020 during the pandemic, I decided to transition and embrace my lifelong dream to be a full-service caterer.
When I am not working as a chef or caterer, I enjoy spending time in my garden or kitchen. I can, pickle, and preserve homegrown items and prepare dishes and desserts that I learned from my nanny. I love the outdoors, taking walks with my two dogs, Reynolds and Jolene, and I am an avid sports fan. Go Gators!
